Il motore, un due litri a iniezione e doppia accensione, conserva il basamento della 1750 GT Veloce, ma ha le canne dei cilindri maggiorate, i pistoni modificati e la testata con camere di scoppio di nuova foggia. Nel 1970 la 1750 GTAm si classifica prima assoluta con Toine Hezemans a Monza e a Brno. Al Nurburgring e a Zandvoort \u00c3\u00a8 sempre prima con il neo pilota Auto Delta Gianluigi Picchi. In altre tre occasioni \u00c3\u00a8 seconda dietro a vetture di cilindrata nettamente superiore (BMW tre litri o Chevrolet Camaro cinque litri), come al Jarama, sempre con Picchi. Con una vittoria assoluta e altre cinque nella divisione fino a 2000 cm3, la 2000 GTAm continua a essere grande protagonista dell'&#8221;Europeo&#8221; 1971, anno in cui l&#8217;Alfa Romeo si aggiudica il titolo costruttori con la pi\u00c3\u00b9 piccola GTA 1300 Junior. Fra i risultati di maggior rilievo anche la vittoria a squadre, per due anni consecutivi, alla 24 Ore di Francorchamps.
